Seven rooms in a honey-stone house above the river, with a walled garden, a short table that follows the season, and the kind of quiet you have to travel for.
We have kept this house for three generations. You arrive as a guest and leave, we hope, as something closer to family.

The most restful three nights we’ve had in years. The river-view room was faultless and breakfast in the garden was a highlight every morning.

Our story
Maison Rivière began in 1961 as a family home — a vigneron’s house with thick walls, cool floors and a garden that ran down to the water. My grandparents took in their first guests almost by accident, when a flooded road stranded a pair of travellers for a week.
